Bagpiper carved from tree, Antigonish

The Town of Antigonish

Antigonish is a small university town with a strong Gaelic heritage. Around town you can find large wooden sculptures in various Gaelic themes.

The Annual Highland Games are held in July, where visitors can experience Highland music and dancing, as well as traditional games such as tossing the caber.

Antigonish Heritage Museum is housed in the former railway station. Here you will find exhibits from the pioneer days, genealogical records and displays about local history.

Festival Antigonish is held throughout July and August and provides great entertainment for adults and kids alike.
