Home Directory Search Sitemap A visitor's guide to Nova Scotia's Sunrise Trail

It's hard to know where to start when it comes to scenery in Nova Scotia, but here are some of my favourites that I will add to as time permits.

Cape John
A promontory near River John which affords great views of Amet Sound and the Northumberland Strait. A good spot to admire our beautiful summer sunsets, or watch the fishing boats coming into harbour. [map]

Big Island / Merigomish harbour
A nice place to take a long walk on the beach or go birdwatching on the inland side of the island. [map]

Cape George
The park at Cape George Lighthouse offers terrific views. It is also the starting point for one of the Cape George Hiking Trails which leads you up into the hills for even better views across the Northumberland Strait to prince Edward Island and across St.Georges Bay to Cape Breton Island. [map]
