Cumberland County Museum - Amherst
The museum's focus is on the history of industry in the county including development of manufacturing, shipbuilding, stone quarrying, architecture, and dykeland farming. However, you will also find information on settlements, social history, and historic highlights of the County. Of special interest to visitors is the permanent display of the Prisoner of War Camp in Amherst from 1914 to 1918. [map]

Wild Blueberry & Maple Centre - Oxford
Exhibits and displays explain the biology of wild blueberries, how producers prune, pollinate and take care of the berries, and finally how they are harvested. A glass encased live bee colony demonstrates how the busy workers pollinate the fields. [map]

Wallace Area Museum
A local history museum displaying artifacts about the Davison Family, Wallace History, Area Industrial History and Francis Grant's writings. [map]

Malagash Heritage Museum
The main theme is the Malagash Salt Mine which ran from 1918-1959. Many artifacts and photos are on display concerning this very interesting industry. The museum displays many old school photos, and covers the natural and social history of the area, including the industries of lobster fishing and farming. [map]

Bayhead Radio Museum
Features over 450 radios, some dating back as far as 1917, and most are in working order. Not only are there radios but spring wound phonographs, telephones and old car memorabilia. [map]

Sunrise Trail Museum - Tatamagouche
Step back in time to when the Mi'kmaq walked our shore. Discover Acadian heritage and how they lived. Following the Expulsion of the Acadians in 1755, Joseph DesBarres brought European Protestant settlers to the area. Find out who they were and how they lived. Intercolonial Railway Station - Tatamagouche
The Intercolonial Railway station was built in 1887 and served the community of Tatamagouche as a Train Station until 1972. Daily self guided tours of the Train Station and it's railway cars are free. The Station's 9 railway cars include 6 cabooses, 2 box cars and 1 transfer van. The property now operates as a Country Inn, Gift Shop and Cafe. [map]

Fraser Cultural Centre - Tatamagouche
Comprises a tourist information center, an art gallery and an exhibition about Anna Swan, a local giantess. [map]

Balmoral Grist Mill - near Tatamagouche
Balmoral Grist Mill was built in the 1870's and is now operated by the Nova Scotia Museum. Visitors can see all the machinery of the mill and watch milling demonstrations. [map]

Walchia Fossil Interpretive Centre - Brule
Displays of Walchia, a primitive coniferous tree from the beginning of the Permian age, and hundreds of animal tracks which are believed to show the earliest signs of herding and social behaviour. [map]

Sutherland Steam Mill - Denmark
A fascinating old lumber mill operated by the Nova Scotia Museum. [map]

McCulloch House Museum - Pictou
At McCulloch House Museum, a new, interactive exhibit tells the fascinating story of one of the many groups who settled Nova Scotia. Piece together the Scottish-immigrant puzzle and take a fresh look at this group's contribution to Nova Scotia. [map]

Hector Heritage Quay - Pictou
Home of the replica ship Hector. The original Hector brought early Scottish pioneers from Loch Broom in 1773. The Hector Heritage Quay tells their story. [map]

Northumberland Fisheries Museum - Pictou
Preserving the coastal heritage of the Northumberland Strait, the Northumberland Fisheries Museum pays tribute to the life and times of those involved with the fishing industry. [map]

Loch Broom Log Church - Loch Broom
The current Log Church at Loch Broom is a replica of the original built in 1787, the first in Pictou County. [map]

Nova Scotia Museum of Industry - Stellarton

Carmichael Stewart House Museum - New Glasgow
Operated by the Pictou County Historical Society, the emphasis lies on shipbuilding and coal mining from which Pictou County prospered and grew. This museum is housed in the serenity of one of New Glasgow's most historical residences. [map]

Pictou County Military Heritage Museum - New Glasgow
This museum is dedicated to preserving the history of Pictou County veterans in particular, but also of all veterans. Opened in the summer of 2006, visitors will find on display a host of military memorabilia dating back to the First World War. Artifacts include uniforms, rank badges, model planes, ships crests and numerous pictures from Pictou County’s military past. [map]

Pictou County Sports Heritage Hall of Fame, New Glasgow

Barney's River Station School Museum - exit 29, TCH
This one room school house was built circa 1866-1875. [map]

Ballantyne's Cove Tuna Interpretive Centre

Antigonish Heritage Museum
Antigonish Heritage museum is a community museum that strives to preserve and promote a cultural understanding of the heritage of Antigonish Town and County. Housed in the former CN Rail Station building, it is located at 20 East Main Street in the Town of Antigonish. [map]
