Chignecto
Ship Railway
This massive civil engineering project was nearly
complete when abandoned in 1891. Today, there is an interpretive centre
and 4km hiking trail along the bed of the railway. [location

Wallace Area Museum
Approximately four kilometres of trails open to visitors. Includes
several short walking trails to allow visitors to experience nature
without having to make a large commitment of time. A 3 km wilderness
trail connects the Museum with the Trans Canada Trail [map]
Gully Lake Wilderness Area Trails
[trail map] Fitzpatrick Mountain
Running from Scotsburn to Millsville, this is a hilly, woodland trail
for hiking, skilled mountain bikers, and trail runners. The easiest
access is at Scotsburn, turn off between the school and the gas station
and the trail starts behind the recreation grounds. (Pictou County

Munroes Island Trail
A very pleasant coastal trail. [trail

Jitney Trail
A short and easy trail starting in Pictou. Connects to the Trans Canada
Trail. [trail

Samson Trail
Along the west bank of New Glasgow's East River. Fully landscaped, the
trail provides a unique urban experience where you can see marshland,
wildlife and explore a unique ecosystem. [map]
Trenton Park
One of Nova Scotia's finest parks, offering six kilometers of
walking/hiking trails winding their way through 565 acres of century-old
coniferous trees. A 2 kilometre mountain bike trail is also on site. [map]
Eigg
Mountain / James River
This is 'crown
property'. You probably won't find signed trails here,
but for those who don't mind finding their way with a
topographic map this
area may be worth investigating. [map]
Cape
George Hiking Trail
These linked trails allow you to plan a hike of anywhere between 2 -
33km. They cover the shoreline, river valleys and coastal hills which
offer panoramic views. [map]
Fairmont Ridge Hiking Trail
12km of well-marked walking circuits suitable for young children and
aggressive hikers alike. [map]

Mahoney's Beach Trail
A gentle walk along this rocky and sandy shore, a popular area for

Antigonish Landing Trail
4.8 km trail on an old grave road along the river in a Wildlife

Canada Trail in Nova Scotia
The Trans Canada Trail is a multi-use recreational trail that will span
our country from coast to coast to coast. The Nova Scotia section of
this ambitious project will have an official land length of 600
kilometres in its first phase from North Sydney to Amherst with a
